| Barton Springs Project |
Project Description
This Project was completed for the Barton Springs segment of the Edwards Aquifer in central Texas. The system calculates recharge, groundwater heads, springflow, impacts due to pumping, and drought management responses using two different simulation models. The project is set-up for manual scenario testing as well as for optimization of user-specified criteria.

Model Descriptions
Model 1 is a coarse resolution lumped parameter model that serves to calculate the gross water budget for the system, as well as runoff and recharge as a function of impervious cover. Calculated recharge is used internally in Model 1 as well as input for Model 2.
Model 2 is a two-dimensional groundwater flow model that calculates the spatially explicit head levels, drawdown, and springflow over time.
